OK, LET’S GET STARTED! FIRST UP IN OUR HOME TOUR IS THE CRAWFORD FAMILY. JALYNNE AND BRANDON CRAWFORD LIVE IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA AND THEIR HOME HAS SOME INCREDIBLY UNIQUE FEATURES. HERE IS THEIR INTERVIEW!

1. WHAT INSPIRES YOUR HOME DECOR?

We both have always loved Earth tones. We’ve looked for these colors in our home purchases. Creams/browns are easy to add a pop of color to any room. These colors feel very homey to us and welcoming to all guests.

2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPACE IN YOUR HOME?

Brandon: My favorite is the Guest House. It is basically my “man cave.” I display most of my memorabilia in this room, from signed balls by different players/teammates to shadow boxes of special moments from throughout my career. The main area of the guest house has a large bar area and three TVs, which makes for a perfect spot to host guests/play bartender for Sunday’s during football season. It also has a movie theater room which is one of the kids’ favorite spots.

Jalynne: I love our home because it is our dream home. However, two places are my favorites. I love our living room because it is where the custom-made fish tank is, my cheetah-print chairs, wonderful family pictures, and just fun decorations. The fish tank was a surprise to Brandon when we were renovating the home. My dad helped me design it with custom things about his life. From his Splash hits, to the Golden Gate Bridge, his World Series rings, the glove and bat like AT&T Park, and some other fun things. The room is so peaceful because you can see into our backyard with the mountain views. Also I love our closet because I helped design the whole thing and it came together amazing!!! We have a his/her side with built in cabinets and rhinestoned drawer openers. There are shoe racks and tons of hanging space. Go figure a girl that loves her closet! :)

3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FURNITURE PIECE OR DESIGN ELEMENT?

Two of our favorite pieces of furniture are the den sectional and Braxton’s crib. We love our den couch/sectional because it was one of the first pieces of furniture we bought and it has come with us in all our homes. It is a big dark chocolate brown leather sectional. It’s so comfy and has been a staple in all our homes. Our other favorite piece is the custom crib of Braxton’s. The front of his crib is made with custom baseball bats and custom sheets that say his name and Brandon’s. My sister who passed away helped design his whole bedroom and it’s a piece from her.

4. WHAT IS SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR HOME THAT MAKES IT ONE OF A KIND?

What really sets our house apart is the backyard or backyards! Basically, there are two backyards; the pool side and the playground side. One side is a kid’s paradise. It has a big grass area, a swing set, a playground structure, an in-ground trampoline, a sports court, and a track that goes around everything for their bikes/little cars. The other side features the pool, with a slide, waterfalls, spa, kiddy pool, and a splash pad. It has a gazebo with a big outdoor dining table and tv. This is also the side of the backyard with the guest house.

5. YOU RECENTLY MOVED, WHAT WAS THE DECISION BEHIND THAT AND HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR NEW HOME?

We had just bought a home a year and half prior and had no plans of moving again. There is a community baseball-wives email where current and former player’s wives share various things, such as charity events, restaurants, good kids spots, and stuff for sale. A former player’s wife put their house for sale in Scottsdale. My mom is a realtor in California, my brother is a realtor in AZ, so I love looking at homes for fun. I just clicked on the email out of curiosity to see the home because it was in our area. When I saw it I said oh my gosh, this is beautiful, and forwarded it to hubby. I wasn’t thinking of buying it because we had just moved to the other house. Brandon responded with a “WOW!”

We both absolutely loved it. He had an off day and flew down to AZ to check out the house. We both thought maybe we should put in an offer, and here we are. We knew in that moment we could make this home our dream home. While the foundation was already perfect, we did a lot of work to the house to make it special to us. We specially designed a fifth bedroom inside the house, the office, our master closet, and various things throughout the house. All of our furniture came from our other home because we loved the same colors and it all matched. Due to baseball season we have not finished decorating every part of the house. Baseball puts things on hold for the season! We are taking our time to decorate. It’s been a fun process for us.

What we want people to know is we both are home bodies and spend a lot of time in the off season at home. We hope you enjoy a snapshot of our house. Thank you for having us.
