Meet Lexy Warner

Hi everyone!! My name is Lexy and I’m married to Andrew Warner. Last year’s draft happened to be the week of our wedding...On Wednesday, June 6th 2018, exactly two days before our wedding, my husband was drafted by the Saint Louis Cardinals in the 40th round. And goodness gracious, we didn’t care at all about what round it was; MY HUSBAND’S DREAM WAS COMING TRUE!!

The next few days were some of the best ever! It was so special to have all our family together when both the dream of baseball and marriage came true.

Then two days later, Andrew left.

We had to cancel our exotic honeymoon and only got to spend 2 days as husband and wife before he left. Our first month of marriage was apart and then I made the drive to Florida and stayed with a family friend for a month. I wasn’t allowed to stay with him but at least I was an hour away rather then 20.

Fast forward to the most amazing offseason, finally getting to experience the married life together. Then I quit my job and traveled with Andrew to his first spring training! It was a fun, exciting few weeks. The very last week, we were told he had made the roster for a full season team! We were ecstatic and I was already setting up job interviews and finding a place to live. Two days later, we got the news that he’d actually be staying in extended spring training. We had to make the hard decision for me to move back home to KC for the time being.

If there is anything that I’ve learned in almost a year of pro baseball it’s to try your best to not have expectations.

It’s so dang hard but ultimately makes it easier to handle both the good and bad.

And we’re practicing each day what it means to live by faith. We believe the Lord has an AMAZING plan for us; one that we can’t possibly even imagine. We’re choosing to put our faith in Christ; not in baseball, not in work, not in money but in Our Heavenly Father.

Praying for all my girls and their guys this season! Asking the Lord to comfort you through the unknowns, loneliness and hard times.

May this season be full of abundant blessings!
