Madison Wright, RDN, ACSM-CPT
My name is Madison, but my friends and family call me Madz! My roots are in Cary, NC but I now call Sarasota, FL “home”. I completed my undergraduate studies at East Carolina University (ECU), earning B.S. degrees in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition Science with a minor in Sport Studies. *This is also where I met my husband, Mike Wright, who is a right-handed pitcher and my connection to the baseball scene!* I then attended the University of Florida to earn a Master's Degree in Nutrition Science and complete a Dietetic Internship. I graduated from UF on August 5th, 2017 and officially became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) on September 16th, 2017.
As a high-energy individual, my whole life has been full of activity. Growing up I "played" jumprope, swimming, cheerleading and track (okay, so you don’t actually “play” any of these, but you get the idea). Weightlifting was introduced to me as a junior in high school when I decided that Spanish III was going to be a nightmare. I dropped Spanish in exchange for a weightlifting course that forever changed my life!
My love for weightlifting led me to compete in 3 Bodybuilding shows. This first-hand experience with the great impact dietary habits can have on body composition and physical performance led me to pursue a career in nutrition, as I aim to open the eyes of those around me to this critical component of total wellness.
My personal and professional experiences related to personal training are as follows:
ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (2013 to present)
Alter Ego Fitness (May 2016 - August 2017)
Excel Fitness and Tanning (January 2014 – May 2015)
Dryland strength and conditioning coach for youth swim team (Sept. 2014 – May 2015)
Athletic Strength & Conditioning volunteer in ECU’s Murphy Center (Sept. 2014-May 2015)
Bodybuilding Bikini Competitor (1 NPC show, 2 ANBF shows)
In 2018, I formally started my own online business: Muscles by Madz, LLC. This venture allows me to better the lives of people all over the country by way of enhanced fitness and food habits, while maintaining the flexibility to support my husband wherever this crazy, beautiful, baseball life leads us. My mission is to educate motivated individuals on the science behind effective exercise and nourishing dietary habits, while offering wellness programs to help people develop and sustain lifelong habits for optimal health.
I so enjoy sharing my passion for wellness with others, and I look forward to doing so with each of you through The Family Room platform!
