I've been in professional baseball for 17 years. Here are 10 things I would tell my younger self about what I've learned along the way.

I remember in the beginning having the lost, almost helpless feeling of what the heck can we do to make this easier or will this really even work?! Wishing I had a little guidance for what was to come. I feel like we have both learned a lot about what was helpful in making long distance work and I really wanted to share in case someone else felt like they needed a little motivation, re-assurance, or advice on doing long-distance.

I get asked almost daily how I make traveling with a (big) puppy work, so I made a "day in the life" video that shows exactly what traveling with her looks like. Traveling with a dog has many challenges but I think this lifestyle is challenging no matter what. Being able to have my bud with me everywhere I go is so worth it!

I spend a LOT of time traveling during baseball season - most of it alone. Along the way I have learned a few things that make life on the road easier, and I thought I would share!
