WAGS Love the Jason Motte Foundation

Happy April! We are excited to announce our LOVE partner for this month, the Jason Motte Foundation

The mission of the Jason Motte Foundation is to provide comfort and care where there is a need for those affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancers of all kinds.

Throughout the month of April, you will hear from the Motte family and WAGS who already partner with their organization, and Caitlin Motte will be a guest on Our Baseball Life Podcast.

We will also be hanging out with their team (via Instagram stories) on April 23rd at their fifth annual Cornhole Challenge in St. Louis

In the meantime, here are 3 practical options for getting involved and making a difference:

1. Visit their mission page to watch a short video on how they got started, what they do, and who they work with:

2. Buy from our LOVE Collection (100% of the profits this month will go to the Jason Motte Foundation) and share the links with your friends. We now have custom shirt and hat packages available too!

3. Donate $10 directly to the Motte Foundation for their annual Spring Training trip partnership with Children's Colorado Hospital and the Colorado Rockies. The last two years, the foundation has underwritten a trip for 20-24 teenagers and 14 doctors and nurses from the Pediatric Oncology division of Children's Colorado. The group flies from Denver to Scottsdale to attend a weekend at the Rockies Spring Training facility. This trip, originally started by Troy Tulowitzki, is in its' 6th year. Patients, who come without their parents on this trip, room with each other during the weekend allowing them to bond with other kids their age that are going through a similar situation.

The kids start the weekend with a pizza party and a night at Dave and Buster's. The next day the kids arrive to the complex, receive jerseys with their name on the back, tour the Rockies complex, have lunch prior to the game, and have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch and participate in in-game radio/tv interviews. That night they are treated a pool party at the hotel! The weekend wraps up on Sunday with the kids attending the Rockies morning meeting, meeting all players in big league camp for autographs, pictures, and a game of catch before flying home. Since 2016 when they became involved in this program, they have seen kids go from having zero fight left to having hope again. One child had not talked in several months prior to coming on the trip. After the trip, she slowly started verbally communicating again and attributed the change to the encouragement she continued to receive from friends she made on the trip. This truly is a once in a lifetime experience for these kids. It gives them a chance to be just that, kids! Donate here: https://www.jasonmottefoundation.org/donate.php
